Start-Up Labs

Designed specifically for staff at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust (OUH),  TheHill’s Start-Up Labs programme is tailored to help healthcare staff turn their ideas into reality. Open to clinical and operational staff across the trust, Start-Up Labs is the first step in building the next generation of digital healthcare solutions that directly address the key challenges faced on the frontline.

During the six-week programme, participants work through a structured, fast-track process to shape their idea and build a prototype. The programme combines hands-on, in-person workshops at the John Radcliffe Hospital with guided tasks to complete outside of scheduled sessions.

By the end of the programme, prototypes are showcased to the cohort and a panel of experts from TheHill. The most promising solutions are offered six months of additional mentoring and support to continue development.

This programme is ideal for healthcare professionals who want to:

  • Explore a new digital product or service idea that could benefit patients
  • Develop a concept into a working prototype
  • Learn what it takes to become a healthcare entrepreneur
  • Build new skills in digital innovation and design thinking

This programme is currently only open to OUH staff, who can search ‘Start-Up Labs’ on the OUH Intranet or email [email protected]  to find out more.
