Wednesday 22 May saw the final session of our Start-Up Labs programme being delivered, concluding with a networking lunch, final pitches from the cohort and a small graduation ceremony.
Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHPs) worked alongside founders and entrepreneurs to gain an understanding of entrepreneurship and have begun to get their own innovative ideas off the ground.
Certificates were presented to participants by Megan Morys-Carter, Director of TheHill and Yvonne Christley, Chief Nursing Officer at @Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Rowan Mould, Start-Up Programme manager said: “This graduation ceremony brings to an end our first Start-up Labs programme. It’s been a pleasure to work with such a diverse and innovative group of clinicians and founders, who have been developing solutions to pressing needs experienced on the frontline. The progress that the cohort has made in a short period of time and the quality of solutions presented today demonstrates the immense potential for innovation from our NMAHPs, opening up new opportunities to improve efficiency and patient outcomes in the NHS. This has been a particularly high-quality cohort and we can’t wait to see where they go next.”
Kelvin Tse, a physiotherapist specialising in hand therapy who took part in the programme commented: “This was an exceptional programme that encouraged creative thinking. It opened a few doors and widened my horizons from normal clinical practice to clinical innovation”
We look forward to seeing the continued success of the NMAHPs and entrepreneurs following the programme.
