AVT in the NHS – Pilot Insights from Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
AI and Ambient Voice Technology (AVT) feature prominently in the NHS 10-Year Plan, with growing interest in how these tools can safely and effectively support clinicians at scale. But what does it really take to test AVT in a live hospital environment? In this session, TheHill (Oxford University Hospitals’ Innovation Service) will share insights from a recently concluded, large-scale pilot evaluating four AVT solutions across the Trust. The talk will explore why the pilot was run, how it was designed and delivered in a complex NHS setting, and what was learned along the way. Attendees will hear about the outcomes of the pilot, including practical lessons on clinical engagement, governance, data, workflow integration, and adoption.
The session will conclude with reflections on what these findings mean for the future of AVT at Oxford University Hospitals and how they are shaping next steps for AI-enabled innovation in care delivery.
Hosted by Megan Morys-Carter, director of TheHill and Ed Jaspers, innovation project facilitator from TheHill.
